Short-Term Residents at Schenectady Center Benefit from GO Rehab Program
The Schenectady Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing is redefining the short-term rehabilitation process with a program called GO Rehab — GO stands for Good Outcomes.
The goal of the GO Rehab unit is to envelop the patient in a comfortable, contemporary, and convenient environment, so they are given the best chance to reach their rehab goals.
The GO Rehab unit, which is housed in its own area of our facility, is completely covered by Medicare. Besides going through physical and occupational therapy needs, patients can see an attending physician every weekday, and they have access to a registered nurse 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Therapy options are enhanced with the cutting-edge Jintronix biofeedback system — an electronic program that interacts with patients in ways that weren’t possible until now. We are also empowering short-term residents by providing weekly individual conferences with our experts, along with continuing patient education opportunities.
We also took into account the comforts of home when creating the GO Rehab program. Our private and semi-private rooms are stocked with a Netflix-equipped smart TV, and residents have access to Chromebooks, Tim Horton’s coffee, and a full menu of healthy food choices. It’s all part of a team environment designed for residents to develop bonds and inspire each other.
When it’s time to go home, patients will transition to our ADL (Activities of Daily Living) Suite. This helps the individual with a gradual transition to their normal life and allows them to gain confidence when they are once again independent. And the GO Rehab program doesn’t end with a successful discharge. A series of follow-up phone calls are scheduled with the patient to monitor progress and ensure a good outcome for the individual and their family.
